Anything goes with the Artiste

Welcome to our "Anything Goes with the Artiste" Blog Hop where we are showcasing  the exclusive Artiste Cricut cartridge which can be purchased exclusively through a Close to My Heart Independent Consultant. This will be our last Artiste blog hop for 2012.

Our "theme" for this hop was to create anything we wanted with the Artiste Cricut cartridge. And honestly, you can pretty much create anything and everything with the Artiste so this was not a difficult thing to do.

If you just happened to come to this blog, you should start at the beginning at Lucy's blog - Love 2 Create

If you came here from "Penny's" blog, It Makes Total cents, then you're in the right place!

 My project is ...

A set of coasters! I was trying to think of a project to make that could be used as a last minute Christmas gift, when it dawned on me.. My friend Katt makes trivets using her cricut and 12x12 floor tiles.... I don't have vinyl, but I have paper and 4x4 tiles that I had purchased for some long ago project. Here is a picture of the supplies that I used for my project. The only thing missing in the pic is the foam brush and the paper I used. I chose a Mod Podge that is for tile, wood and other objects that could be used for furniture. Oh, I almost forgot the felt dots! I used these on the bottom for the feet so the tiles don't sit directly on the table and scratch it. For the image on my tile, I decided on the suits from a deck of cards. These were cut out at 3 1/2, and they can be found on page 49 in the cutting booklet.

After cutting out the images, I inked them using a sponge dauber and White Daisy ink. To glue them to to tiles, I used my foam sponge to put some Mod Podge on the back of the paper, and then placed the paper on the tile. MAKE SURE that when you do this, you get the paper where you want it. It won't move once it's placed. These have to dry for a couple of hours before I can add a top coat to the tiles to make them waterproof.

My supplies:

Mod Podge (can be found at your local craft store. I got mine at Walmart)

4x4 tiles (can be found at your local Lowe's, Home Depot in the flooring dept. Mine are unglazed tiles)
Felt circles (Also found at Lowe's and Home Depot. At Lowe's they are in the Hardware Dept.)
Red card stock
Black Card stock
Sponge daubers
White Daisy ink
Artiste Cricut Cartridge

I am the last stop on this hop.

Enjoy  our blog hop.

If you have just hopped onto my blog, please start at the beginning at Lucy's blog – Love 2 Create

If you came from " Pricilla " of " Pricilla's Paperie"  then you are in the right place!

I chose the 'tis the season stamp out of this stamp set. I decided to use a technique I had not done in a LONG time.... heat embossing!
I stamped the stamp in a Versa Mark stamp pad. Versa Mark is like a glue that helps the embossing powder stick, and it can be heated.
I chose Silver Tinsel powder by a company called Stamp-n stuff. (got it at my local craft store.) After I embossed the card, I decided I liked it the way it was, and just added some ribbon to finish it up. My stamping got a little crooked, but I am ok with that. I think it gives the card a little character.

Your next stop on our Year-Round Cheer blog hop is " Marcia " of " Kosanke Cards".

Here is the complete lineup in case you get lost along the way:

Lucy ~ Love 2 Create
Jennifer ~ 4 Hearts Scrapbooking
Priscilla ~ Priscilla's Paperie
Theodora ~ Celebrate Crafts

In this hop, you will see projects featuring this fun stamp set from many talented crafty ladies!
Enjoy  our blog hop.

If you have just hopped onto my blog, please start at the beginning at Lucy's blog – Love 2 Create

If you came from " Jennifer " of " 4 Hearts Scrapbooking"  then you are in the right place!

For my project, I decided to make a birthday card. I used the names of the months as my back round stamp. I just loaded all of the stamps on one block, and then randomly stamped the stamp around the card. I used a piece of black card stock, a couple pieces of Shimmer trim (love this!!), 3 rolled flowers, and bling. For the flowers, I cut them at 3", and they are on the Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge. The flower is on pg 70.. font<tag5>
I stamped Happy Birthday using White Daisy pigment ink. The birthday stamp is from the Art Philosophy bundle.

Supplies:
card base (I buy them at Joanns using a coupon. This is an A2 size card)
Black card stock (1386)
Shimmer trim (Z1799)
Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge Bundle (Z1686)
White Daisy Ink (1385)
Sparkles (Z1752)
Autumn Terracotta card Stock (1270) (3rd flower)

Your next stop on our Capture the Date blog hop is " Stephanie " of "The Quilted Scrapper".

The Artiste in 3D blog hop

Welcome to our The Artiste in 3D Blog Hop!  There are so many fun features  in our Artiste Cricut cartridge that we decided to showcase many of the 3D Objects

In this hop, you will see a variety of projects featuring the 3D Object key of the Artiste but don’t worry, you won’t need special glasses to see them!  (But we do hope our projects will “stand out” to you.)

If you have just hopped onto my blog, please start at the beginning at Lucy's blog – Love 2 Create If you came from Kindred Hearts of It Makes Total Cents then you are in the right place!

My project is this cute little 3D box, that is found on page 78 in the Artiste cutting guide, and the assembly instructions can be found in the assembly instructions guide on page 60. (The assembly instructions guide comes with the cartridge!) (3D object <thnkgvng>)
to cut the flower: shift 3D object <thnkgvng>

I used a piece of Flirty paper for both the box and the flower. In fact, I used one sheet of paper to cut both pieces. This is actually the second box I cut. On the first box, my cricut did not cut the little dashes at the bottom to allow the center bottom to fold in. (pic 2)

Next I folded in the petals, and secured them with glue dots to hold them in place. I used the handle side of my paper piercing tool to go through the hole in the bottom to help push the dots together.

I decided that my box could use a little bling, so I used Sparkle Flourishes to decorate the sides, and a little bling in the center of the leaf on the top.

Thank you for stopping by!

Supply list:

Artiste Cricut Cartridge
Flirty Paper Pack
Sparkle Flourishes
Your next stop on the Artiste in 3D blog hop is Priscilla of Priscilla’s Paperie
